Olympians went out during lunch to sign up for Join a Club Day September 7, 2017. As lunch started, clubs were setting up their tables to make it presentable to students. Students were scattered everywhere. Crowds were surrounding different club tables, such as the Asian Pacific Islander Club, Key Club, M.E.C.H.A, and so many more. More clubs have been added to our school community as well, like the Vietnamese Club and the Let’s Give Club.
Olympians showed tons of spirit, whether they joined a club or just thought about it. We asked a couple of clubs about their purpose and how the club gets involved in the community. For instance the Vietnamese Students Association Club said that the purpose of the club was to give people a better outlook on the Vietnamese culture and experience it for themselves. The B.E.L.L.A.S Club is to grow and support women empowerment and Olympian women get into college. The Latino Club wants people to join to help spread the importances and positivity of the Latin culture. Asian Pacific Islander Club wants people to join their club because it brings happiness and positive energy. The club shows how Asian and Pacific Islanders and any other ethnicity can come together and blend to share culture and traditions.
Overall, Join a Club Day was a huge success! We have so many Olympians in different clubs helping students get involved and spread school spirit. It’ll be exciting to see what each of the campus clubs will do this school year!
