Video gaming is one of my well known hobbies since I was 3 years old when I tried to play a shooter game that belonged to my father. I’ve played many different types of games from puzzles to racing, to fighting and shooting games. For so long I’ve played offline for years until I was 12 when I finally got connected to online gaming and there I met plenty of cool gamers like me. I was glad I played videos games because I met my two best online gaming friends Daniel and Mason. Even to this day I am still wielding a controller and a BFG 9000 in game to this day and might continue playing when I am way older.
My name is Anthony Martinez I am a current student at Leuzinger High School.
I come from a rough neighborhood a little port town call San Pedro and
I am of Russian and Mexican descent. I train in MMA and boxing, and I am currently
enlisted in the United States Military. My favorite class in school is photojournalism.
What makes it interesting is in the class I can pick what I want and express myself
through any picture my partner and I decide to take.
Hi, my name is Cameron Lecky I live in Compton, Ca. I go to Leuzinger High School in Lawndale where I’ve been there for four years. I also play Basketball at Leuzinger I’ve played since I was at least five. I live in a single parent home just me and mom. I have two siblings a brother and sister. I also have two nephews one is older than me surprisingly, by only two weeks and two nieces. My ethnicity is not only black but I’m Jamaican, Irish, and Indian.
My name is Adrian Gomez and I’m currently a senior at Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California. I take key interest in mathematics and science subjects. To add on, I enjoy to challenge myself within these subjects so I decided to take AP Calculus this school year. Electronics is one of my main hobbies, therefore MCA was an obvious choice to be apart of sophomore year. There’s not one day I regret joining this academy. I have various goals one of which is getting accepted to University of California, Los Angeles, and majoring in Computer Engineering.
I am Carlos Aguirre, I am a photographer, videographer, a musician, and a student at Leuzinger High School. I’ve been a photographer pretty much my whole life, I picked up a camera when I was around 6 and ever since then, I just fell in love with it. I decided to do videography my junior year of high school because I wanted to learn something new so I took a beginners video class. To add on, I entered a video contest for a suicide prevention video and surprisingly, I won first place in my region and received $500! Lastly, I’ve been in the marching band since freshmen year of high school! I play marching bass drum and currently picking up several instruments on the side for fun, such as french horn, mellophone, and several percussion instruments.
My name is Lindsay Vaughn I am a senior at Leuzinger High School. I am in the Multimedia Careers Academy and have been for four years now. Since I’ve been in this program I have learned a lot about the different types of cameras there are and the different types of photography that are out there. I hope before I graduate high school this year I can recruit freshman to join and want to be able to be apart of such a great program.
Hello.
My name is James D. I don’t like writing about myself so I’ll just have at it: I was born in a French prison in the late 1990’s to a Hip-Hop DJ and an Army Woman. I shoot photos and films of musicians Downtown, play in a band or two, and wear suits as much as possible but other then that there isn’t much to tell, what you see is what you get. In the above picture I'm pointing at YOU because although you may not know me, I know you, I Love You, and I’ve got your back. See You Around!

Hi! My name is Ana Alvarado. I’m currently a senior at Leuzinger High School. I have two older sisters, making me the youngest. I joined MCA Academy, because I wanted to learn about photography and develop some knowledge. Being a photographer was one of my future career choices, however, I figured out photography wasn’t exactly for me. I became more interested in biochemistry, and that is what I’m striving for. I’ve always tried my hardest to be a hard working student, in order to get good grades and make my parents proud.
My name is Michelle Phan and I’m a senior at Leuzinger High School. I have no regrets joining the Multimedia Careers Academy 4 years ago because it has introduced me to a world of media that I never saw. Contributing to inform students of school news gives me a satisfying feeling. I enjoy writing and digging deep into issues that should be prioritized in our world, which has influenced me to choose to major in mass communications and/or journalism in the college that I choose to attend. I also want to spend a good amount of my future traveling, as I love surrounding myself with great people to see and experience new things.
My name is Desirae Ariana McCoy. I was born on March 28th 1999 . I am a senior at Leuzinger High School. I’m the Head captain of the Leuzinger drill team and that’s a big roll for me because I have to be a leader and lead my team into the right direction. My goal after High School is to attend the Navy. But then again I’m not sure because I do want to go to college, I want to attend Northridge. My goal is to be an undercover detective after I resign from the navy. So yeah that’s a little bit about me.
My name is Pedro Moises Alfaro Perez. I am an only child, but as you can see, I have plenty of cousins that act as my brothers and sisters. I am 6 feet tall and weigh about 250 pounds, so yeah, I’m a pretty big dude. Many people think I’m spoiled just because I am an only child, and I kind of am, but not very often. There have been plenty of times where I do get bored out of my mind, but it has happened so many times I’m already used to it. I do go frequently to visit my grandparents, and maybe that is the reason I get bored so often, besides the fact that they have no wifi. I used to play soccer, especially when I was younger, but it’s been about a year that I haven’t played, and I don’t really plan on playing again this year, at least not anytime soon.
My name is Giovanny Garcia I'm 18, a senior class of 2017 here at Leuzinger high school. To start off I am part of the LGBTQ community, yes I'm gay, yes I'm a guy who likes other guys. There’s nothing wrong with that but of course there are people out there who oppose to it but I don't care. It's who I am and it's what I want to be, My childhood was confusing mainly because when I was little of course I didn't know what I liked. I would always question many things especially my sexuality, at times I'll be with a girl and other times I'll be crushing over a guy and of course I was too young to know what “gay” nor the fact that I was considered as one. I always thought that's how things work, you figure out who you like and once you figure that out, boom! You stay liking that person, I was too young to know that there was a label to it and that those kind of people are usually treated unequal or most of the time bullied and made a fun of by it but I didn't find that out by the time I was in 6th grade when I was caught kissing a boy in the locker rooms and so after that I was pretty much harassed, beat, bullied and made a fun of but then after all that I started dating girls basically using them for a cover up, I know that's not nice but at the time I was just scared and didn't know what to do so I did that. Years went on and by the end of 8th grade I decided to come out and surprisingly most of all my friends supported me and I loved them because that made me more comfortable. Now being an openly gay guy I feel much better and more like myself especially that here at Leuzinger they have a GSA club (Gay Straight Alliance) so my freshman year I would go to the club meeting and feel better knowing other people are like me and went through the same things for being who they are, so it made me stronger and not so afraid to be a openly gay men and now I can freely say I'm gay and not be scared about it. Me being gay was a big part of my life as it first affected me in a negative way and now in a positive way where I can be free of who I am and who I like. I wrote about me being gay because I believed that this was a big chunk going on in my life until I was a freshman and I believe there's still people out there especially young teenagers who are scared and I think they shouldn't be scared to be who they want to be I think they should be free about it and have no worries about being who they are and just go out and live their lives to the fullest with pure joy and excitement.

This is me, I am just your normal average student photographer. There's really nothing special about me. I'm only a Mexican and Colombian 17-year-old, who is about 5’4 with vibrant green eyes and who is still pretty unsure about what he wants to do in the near future. If you were to come up to me and ask me what I want to do after high school, I would look at you with my blank facial expression and say “I have absolutely no clue.”
Unfortunately it's the truth, I honestly don't really know but if I have to pick something to pursue I would go with photography. To me photography is almost like the therapy, it helps me focus any and all stresses I may have by focusing on getting a good shot. I also adore it because I have full control over how my photos come out and just the simple fact that any and every single photo I take will always be unique. There will never be another photo exactly same as mine. So If you were to ask me what I want to do after high school, yes I would say “ I don't know,” but, if you would ask me what I like to do. I would say “ I like taking pictures.”

A little bit about me, is that I want to be an officer when I grow up. And want to serve my community the same way it has served its purpose as a city. The reason why I wanna be an officer for Gardena police, is because it's something I've always wanted to be when I was young. I would be the first in my family to work for the government once I join the force. At first my family didn't want me to be one because of the bad reputation of officers. But the way I see is every officer is different. You can either be the cop that makes everyone follow the law or you can be a pretty Lenient cop. It all depends on the officer. Being an officer would make me so happy to go into work and put on that uniform. Even if it means taking a bullet for a civilian, it will be done.
My name is Jaysn Estell I am a high school senior at Leuzinger high school. I am in the Multimedia Careers Academy. I am a young photographer in training I’ve been a photographer for about 2 years and I’ve filmed so much already. I am always happy and I can be very silly a lot of the time. I don’t believe there is a person happier than me.
I am 18 year old Latino male living in a beautiful state named California and a nice town named Lawndale. I’m a senior at Leuzinger High School and a member of the Multimedia Careers Academy. I have a couple hobbies I like to do when I have free time: some are taking photos, working out, and hanging out with my niece. I spend most of my time with my niece though, when I’m not working or at school at least. I treat my niece as if she was my own daughter, most people think she is, so I just go with it.
Hey, My name is Deja Williams I have been attending Leuzinger since my freshman year and I'm currently a senior this year. High school has taught me so much that I will never forget. As being a senior, everything is about deadlines and getting good grades. This year has been one of my hardest years but with family and friends to help me get through it, I will graduate and become successful with determination.
Video games is one of my favorite hobbies because it helps me relieve my stress and entertains me. I’ve been playing video games since I was six years old when my mother bought me a gameboy color with Pokemon yellow version. I feel satisfied when I accomplished an objective in a video game. I also like collecting video games because collecting video games adds more variety on the genre of games.
My name is Melissa Contreras and some things about me is that I can be really shy at times. Even though I am shy, I am usually funny as some people say when they describe me. Whenever I find interest in something, I look into it. I really love researching about anything that has deep meaning. I don't usually get bored of anything, I like going out and going on adventures with friends.
Hello, my name is Aurora Campos I currently attend Leuzinger High School. I’m interested in photography, music, psychology and journalism. I own 24 bunnies. My current hobbies are taking picture of anything in general, listening to music and spending time with my siblings. I’m blessed to have such amazing friends and being able to go on random adventures with them.
Hi, my name is Izabella Hernandez I attended Leuzinger High School . I'm 17 years old. I was mostly raised by my aunt and uncle and I'm truly grateful for them. My dad was never in my life and my mom right now is not in a good position to be taking care of me and my brother. I have a brother that lives with me, I also have a sister but she doesn't live with us. I honestly don't remember my childhood as much. At this point of my life I'm proud of myself because when I look back on how I used to be, the way I was living, basically going the wrong path. I wouldn't be doing what I'm doing now. I grew stronger physically and mentally. I learned from right and wrong, grew wiser. I know later in the future I'll be doing something good and helping others the way people helped me to be who I am today.
My name is Kayla Slayton and I am a senior attending Leuzinger High School. Some things that interest me are music, taking pictures and laughing and hanging with friends. Here at Leuzinger I had the best of time and even the worst of times, but at the end of the day I managed to overcome it all. I am efficient in front and behind the camera. My love for photography all started when my mom was in college doing photography and would take me on her field trips and even use me as her subject. So when I saw the photography option for my schedule I was quick to pick that as my class.
Yo, my name is A’Jhon Jaylen Hudson and I am 17 years old. I attend to Leuzinger High and I am a senior here, my favorite teacher is the bestest teacher in the whole widest world, Ms. Peterson we have a handshake and all. But, besides that I have a lot of hobbies and talents that I love to express. One of them are basketball, I fell in love with basketball at a very young age. I was 3 when I first picked up a ball. Basketball kind of runs in the family. Another one of my hobbies is hip hop. I absolutely love rap music with all my heart to keep it a band. My dad rapped, my brother rapped, and even my sister tried. If you ask me, I’m better than all of them.
When I get older I wanna pursue my rap career, but if that doesn’t work I will become a police detective.

Hi my name is Randy Perez and I am a senior at Leuzinger High School. If I could see myself now from middle school I have accomplished so much for my age and I have changed so much. I used to never care about school or education and always used to never do my schoolwork and thank god I had a teacher that opened my eyes and made me see school important and to think about my future. So now in leuzinger i have never failed a class and never went to summer school. My parents have always loved me and always supported me in anything, so for this summer I accomplished something really big. The past summer my brother helped me out with a job and I ended up working this whole summer and saved up the money to give a downpayment of my dream car a 2015 Mustang GT.
Hi my name is Joe “Felicia” Curiel. I'm 17 and I go to Leuzinger high school. I’ve been at this school for almost 4 years. If I would see myself now from 5 years ago it would trip me out because I was bad when I was a kid, and I mean bad. I would hang out with the wrong people and do stuff that would get me in trouble with the law. I'm honestly kinda proud of myself because if I would've never moved to Leuzinger I would've been a high school dropout or in jail or even dead. When I moved to Leu I felt out of place but I told myself I couldn't go back how I was and I wanted to make my grandma proud. For me high school was a second chance to get my stuff together.
I’ve always had the fear of growing up. Never liked the idea of becoming an adult because I would see how difficult it was by seeing other around me struggle. Each year I would fear less on the idea of becoming an adult. I am now 18 years old and I can honestly say, being a young adult isn’t really much of a difference, but then again I am just 18. I still have a whole life ahead of me and I am slowly preparing myself for the real challenges that are coming my way. One thing about myself is that I never give up. No matter how hard the situation can get. My parents always taught me how to be strong not for anyone but for myself.
Hey! My name is Timothy Gillette. I am a senior at Leuzinger high school. I'm 17 years old, I tend to spend my time in my room all day playing video games, and I never really liked sports. I grew up in a nice house in a good neighborhood with a dog and I am the youngest of my three siblings. Unfortunately my oldest brother passed away due to a shooting. We moved from the house because my mom couldn’t handle all of the memories from him. And we had to get rid of the dog because they didn't allow dogs where we moved. I’ve gotten very close to my other brother because of the incident. My mom was a single mother as she raised us. I appreciate her for everything she has done for us as on her own like working part time jobs, cooking every night, giving us much love and discipline, and also encouraging us to stay in school.
My name is Melissa Mendiola. I’m 18 and a senior at Leuzinger High School. School isn’t really my thing, I wasn’t ever really interested in school since I was young. Of course I still go, so my goal right now is to graduate with my fellow classmates of 2017. I don’t really have many hobbies, I just like to go with the flow. Wherever god wants to take me. Yes I believe in god but I’m not religious I just believe in whatever is right to me. I like to be independent, even though many people might not think so. I like to be positive with everything in life no matter what I don't like being negative or even being around others who bring bad vibes. I’m the third child out of five of us. I grew up with a single mom never had a dad figure in my life. I have two older sisters, one younger sister, and a little brother. I enjoy listening to music mostly all the time, there’s never really a day when I don’t listen to music. Family is everything to me, without family I don’t know what I would do they’re all I have. I like makeup, fashion, and food. I’m a very chill and mellow person never start any drama always just stay to myself. I feel like I have a great personality, always laughing making jokes, get along with anybody. I’m also a Sagittarius so that might say a lot about me.
My name is Anthony Bibian and I'm a senior at Leuzinger high school. I'm a photographer and I am currently in the process of learning how to edit and take video. I have experience using Photoshop and covering sports, conventions, events, graduations and parties. I started taking pictures as a hobby but it soon turned into something that I really wanted to do professionally because it fits my personality. I love meeting new people and interacting with people. I’m not the type that could ever work at a desk job,Or being stuck behind a cash register. I must be active no matter what and I'm a really easy going person, Yet can work hard when the time comes. It’s easy for me to work with people and be part of a team. Thanks to Mr. Hiller for taking me on jobs with him, I have that experience of actually shooting real peoples’ events and I feel really confident in my work and my ability to be able handle the stress and seriousness that can sometimes arise at jobs. Some family background about me is that part of my family was in the military, so being disciplined was something I learned early on and is kind of something that was expected of me, so it's kind of a nice trait to have when it comes to being part of any job and business that has deadlines. And finally, if you would like to see any of my work, you can access my Weebly page.

My name is Dameon Glass, i'm 17, love online gaming and I'm transgender. Being lgbt+ has affected my life but, not in the way you think. As part of such a large community it has allowed me to meet so many people from so many places and learn new things from them. I'm more than my identity though, I'm also an animal lover, a ukulele player, and a huge marvel fan. School has been my biggest priority the past four years but as I near graduation, I focus now more than ever more on my future and I'm excited to see what unfolds.
Hello, my name is maryjane, I am a senior student at Leuzinger High School. I love to play sports, I am actually in softball and soccer but my favorite sport to play is softball. I love to read, go to the beach, go to the movies, go hiking and swimming. People know me as a very hyper and funny person. The thing I love the most is making people smile, whenever I have the chance to make someone smile or be happy it makes me happy because a lot of teens especially at my age aren’t really happy on the inside. They just come to school smiling and you think they’re happy when they are really not, so I love being that person to cheer people up and make their day better because I know how it feels not to be happy sometimes. I also love taking pictures, whenever I go to the beach I take pictures of everything, and not going to like my pictures turn out to be wonderful it’s amazing. That’s why I decided to join the academy at Leuzinger High School which is called (MCA). It helps me learn more about taking pictures and it gives me that time and opportunity at getting better in photography.
